CIMB launches mobile banking*
KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Bank Bhd is confident that its mobile banking service will be popular with users of its existing Internet portal CIMB Clicks.
The bank currently had over 1.3 million CIMB Clicks users and expected to attract more users to its banking portal with the launch of CIMB Clicks Mobile Banking, head of retail banking Peter England said at the service launch yesterday.
He said the new service was not a separate application of CIMB Clicks but a different channel of accessing the banking portal.
"It doesn't make sense to have different mobile banking and Internet banking platforms. Other banks have similar service but ours run on the same platform as Internet banking,"he said, adding that there was an additional layer of security for its mobile banking customers.
According to England, CIMB Bank received on average 4.5 million account inquiries and about 350,000 online bill payments a month.
The bank also received about 150,000 and 200,000 phone reload and fund transfer transactions online per month.
CIMB Bank will be giving away prizes to customers who perform transactions using CIMB Clicks Mobile Banking from now till Oct 30.
